I founded Chanel Oosthuizen in late 2013 as a platform for work and play,

I have 7 years of experience in Lifestyle Photography, Graphic Design, Social Media Management, Social Media Strategy, Branding & Brand Photography.
Below is an edit of some of my favourites to date.
After I completed my Hons Degree in Information Design, I thought it necessary to also do a course in “3D” Animation called, “Autodesk Softimage”.
My first job was in advertising, where after I started at a new company as Head of Graphic Design before I snuck in, and started growing my experience as a photographer, working all around South Africa.
When I started with this last step, I loved it so much that I decided to set out on a brave new path to bring these two callings, Graphic Design & Photography, together.
Design
I fell in love with how design can make us feel things, and the stories it’s capable of telling. My biggest goal is that my clients “feel” their logo I designed, to get that emotion, as this tells me that I am on the right track.
Photography
This is all about the challenge to capture that fleeting MOMENT, that illusive “unicorn” in the photography world, that makes you stand out above the others. This is something that took me years in mastering, and still this is a challenge for me. But the more I do it, the better I get. It is all about hard work…
These 2 together…
This is an absolute winner, the goose that lays the golden eggs.
I’m a firm believer that life’s too short to dedicate yourself to only one thing and not trying to make something your own, like combining the best of both worlds that I love. Make it your own…
Isn’t this also part of entrepreneurship?
“If your heart is in it, then so is mine. I care deeply about every project that I take on, and pride myself in crafting each brand with as much love and attention to detail as I did for my own.”
As a Unit still photographer, or simply still photographer, I created film stills, still photographic images specifically intended for use in the marketing and publicity of feature film, Stroomop
“People don’t always remember what you say or even what you do, but they always remember how you made them feel.”
